- Bernie Chance is a family nurse practioner specializing in cardiac care and the Clinical Director for North Dallas Flow Therapy. Flow Therapy uses EECP Therapy (Enhanced External Counterpulsation) to improve circulation to the heart,brain, and periphery to improve cardiac disease and long covid.Mrs. Chance is fluent in English and Spanish and she does preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Her past included opening a transitional care center for cardiac patients in 2014-2015. After that, she expanded and helped Baylor College of Medicine, Methodist Hospitals, and all the St. Luke\'s Systems do their own transitional care centers. This included collecting data and analytics and reporting to the Department of Health and Human Services for Texas, who then reported the findings to the Center for Medicaire and Medicaid.Mrs. Chance says empowering patients to take care of themselves and better their own lives is the very best thing about being a nurse practioner.
